AlexMods publishes every release in three versions with the same number: GBWhatsApp Pro, OGWhatsApp Pro, and WhatsApp Plus. All three share one code base, so their features largely match. If a site offers you one of them with a different number, treat it with suspicion.

The word “Pro” means two different things online. First, AlexMods uses it as the real name of its build, GBWhatsApp Pro. Second, many download sites add “Pro” to any GB WhatsApp file to make it look premium. As a result, two files called GB WhatsApp Pro can come from two different developers.
So, ignore the label and check two details instead: the developer and the base WhatsApp version. Together, they tell you what you really have.
Is there an official GB WhatsApp Pro website?
No company stands behind GB WhatsApp Pro. AlexMods shares its releases through its own website and Telegram channel, while every other site simply hosts copies of the file. Therefore, a site that calls itself “official GB WhatsApp Pro” is only describing itself.

Why the base version matters
Every mod copies a specific version of official WhatsApp. When that copy grows old, WhatsApp may ask you to switch to the official app before you can log in. Pro 18.70 copies a WhatsApp version from mid 2025, while GB WhatsApp 27.06 copies one from late 2026. In other words, Pro now carries a higher chance of login errors.

Many sites advertise GB WhatsApp Pro 18.80, 18.85, or even higher numbers. However, the developer’s own release channel lists 18.70 as its newest Pro build. We found no developer post for 18.80 or 18.85.
So, where do those files come from? Usually, a site renames an older build, repacks a different mod, or simply edits the number on its page. None of these gives you anything newer, and a repacked file can hide changes you cannot see.

GB WhatsApp Pro keeps everything official WhatsApp offers and adds a long list of extras. You find most of them in GB Settings, which opens from the three dot menu on the main screen. Here are the features people use most.
Hide your online status and freeze last seen
You can stay invisible while you read and reply. Freeze last seen also locks your last seen time at one moment, so contacts cannot tell when you open the app.
Control blue ticks and typing
You decide who sees your blue ticks, second tick, typing, and recording status. For example, you can read a message and keep the blue ticks hidden until you reply.
Ghost mode
Version 18.70 adds Ghost mode, which turns on several privacy options with one switch. It helps when you want to read chats without leaving any sign.
Anti delete for messages and status

How to Download and Install GB WhatsApp Pro
Installing GB WhatsApp Pro takes about five minutes. Before you start, back up your chats, because a fresh install starts empty until you restore them.
- Back up your chats. In your current WhatsApp, open Settings, then Chats, then Chat backup, and tap Back up.
- Download the APK. Tap the download button on this page and wait for the full file, about 111 MB.
- Allow the install. When Android asks, let your browser or file manager install unknown apps.

How to Update GB WhatsApp Pro Without Losing Chats
GB WhatsApp Pro never updates through Google Play. Instead, you install each new build yourself, right on top of the old one. Done this way, your chats stay in place.
- Check your version. Open GB Settings and look for the Updates or About section. Note the number, such as 17.52 or 18.60.
- Back up first. Open Settings, then Chats, then Chat backup, and tap Back up. Then copy the backup folder to your computer or cloud storage.
- Download 18.70. Get the newest Pro build from this page.
- Install over the old app. Open the file and tap Update. Do not uninstall the old app first.
- Open and check. Your chats should appear right away. If they do not, restore the backup you made.
Updating from old builds like 17.00 or 17.52
Many people still run Pro builds from the 17 series and want to know how to update them. You can usually install 18.70 directly over them, as long as both files come from AlexMods. Also, you do not need every version in between, so jump straight to the newest build.
If Android shows “App not installed”, your old file probably came from a different modder. In that case, follow the switch steps below.
When you should switch instead of update
If 18.70 shows “You need the official WhatsApp to log in”, its base has grown too old. At that point, move to the newer GB WhatsApp 27.06. Different modders sign their files differently, so Android will not install one over the other. Back up, uninstall Pro, install GB WhatsApp, and then restore your chats.
Do not skip the backup
Uninstalling GB WhatsApp Pro removes its folder on your phone, local backups included. Copy your backup folder somewhere safe first, or you can lose your chats for good.

What about 17.xx builds?

Is GB WhatsApp Pro Safe?
GB WhatsApp Pro carries the same two risks as every WhatsApp mod. The first risk comes from the file, and the second comes from WhatsApp itself.
Risk 1: a tampered file
Nobody reviews mod APKs the way Google reviews Play Store apps. Security researchers have already found spyware hidden inside modified WhatsApp copies, as The Hacker News reported. So, install only a file that matches the details on this page, and let Google Play Protect scan it first.
Risk 2: a banned number
WhatsApp’s terms forbid unofficial apps. Its help center explains that it can ban such accounts for a limited time, and for good if you keep using the mod.
Even AlexMods admits the risk. In its 18.45 release note, the developer told users that WhatsApp Plus is “better to avoid ban”. Two later notes also warn that the update cannot work with banned numbers.

GB WhatsApp Pro still works for many people, and its features match regular GB WhatsApp almost one for one. However, its last build dates from August 2025, and its WhatsApp base keeps aging. That makes login errors more likely as time goes on.
So, if Pro runs fine on your phone, keep it and update to 18.70. If you are starting fresh, or Pro gives you trouble, choose the newer GB WhatsApp build instead. Either way, use a spare number and keep a backup you can reach.
One more thing: anti delete and status saving show you things other people chose to remove. Use them with respect, because those people probably had a reason.
