GB WhatsApp Web: Use GB WhatsApp on PC, Laptop, and Linked Devices

There is no GB WhatsApp app for Windows or Mac. Still, you can read and send your GB WhatsApp chats on a computer in three ways. This guide shows each one, step by step, and fixes the login problems people hit most.

The short answer

To use GB WhatsApp on a computer, open web.whatsapp.com or the WhatsApp desktop app, then link it from GB WhatsApp on your phone. Open the three dot menu, tap Linked devices, and scan the QR code. Your chats then appear on the computer. GB extras stay on the phone, because the computer runs the normal WhatsApp interface.

This page is part of our complete GB WhatsApp guide. We checked the linked device rules against WhatsApp’s own documentation and recent reporting.

How to Use GB WhatsApp on a Computer: 3 Methods

Pick the method that fits you. The first two link your phone to a computer. The third runs GB WhatsApp itself on the computer.

Method 1

Scan a QR code

Best for most people. It takes about one minute.

  1. On your computer, open web.whatsapp.com in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari. You can also install the WhatsApp desktop app.
  2. On your phone, open GB WhatsApp and tap the three dot menu.
  3. Tap Linked devices, then Link a device.
  4. Unlock with your fingerprint or PIN if your phone asks.
  5. Point your phone at the QR code on the computer screen.
  6. Wait a few seconds while your chats load.

Good to know

The QR code refreshes every few seconds. If the scan fails, reload the page and scan the new code.

Method 2

Link with a phone number

Use this when your camera cannot scan the QR code.

  1. On the computer, open WhatsApp Web and choose Link with phone number.
  2. Enter the number you use in GB WhatsApp, including the country code, and click Next.
  3. The computer shows an 8 character code.
  4. On your phone, open GB WhatsApp, tap the three dot menu, then Linked devices and Link a device.
  5. Tap Link with phone number instead, then type the code.

Scam warning

Only type a code that your own computer shows you. Scammers ask people for pairing codes to link their own device to your account.

Method 3

Run it in a PC emulator

Use this only if you want the GB extras on a computer.

  1. Install an Android emulator such as BlueStacks or LDPlayer on Windows or macOS.
  2. Download the GB WhatsApp 27.06 APK on the computer.
  3. Drag the APK into the emulator, or use its install APK option.
  4. Open GB WhatsApp in the emulator and verify a number that can receive SMS or calls.

Keep in mind

This makes the computer your main WhatsApp device for that number. So, use a spare number.

Where Is WhatsApp Web in GB WhatsApp?

Many people look for a “WhatsApp Web” button inside GB WhatsApp and cannot find one. That is because the option now lives under a different name.

  • Open GB WhatsApp and tap the three dot menu at the top right.
  • Look for Linked devices. This is the WhatsApp Web option.
  • Some older builds also show a separate WhatsApp Web shortcut inside GB Settings.

If you see no Linked devices option at all, your build is too old. Update to 27.06 with our GB WhatsApp update guide. The 27.06 release also fixed a crash that hit some users when they linked a device.

What Works on GB WhatsApp Web and What Does Not

A linked computer runs the normal WhatsApp interface, not GB WhatsApp. So, some things carry over and others stay on your phone.

GB WhatsApp for PC, Laptop, and Windows

People often search for “GB WhatsApp for PC” or “GB WhatsApp for Windows”. No developer makes a Windows or Mac version, so any “GB WhatsApp.exe” file is fake. You have two real options.

Use WhatsApp Web or the WhatsApp desktop app, and link it to GB WhatsApp on your phone. This is fast, light, and keeps your main setup on the phone.

Option 2: an Android emulator

An emulator such as BlueStacks or LDPlayer runs Android apps on Windows and macOS. Inside it, GB WhatsApp works like it does on a phone, including the GB extras. However, emulators need a strong computer, and the account then lives on the computer.

What about Windows 11?

Microsoft used to offer the Windows Subsystem for Android, which ran Android apps on Windows 11. Microsoft ended support for it on 5 March 2025, so an emulator is now the only way to run Android apps there.

GB WhatsApp on a Mac or Chromebook

On a Mac, use WhatsApp Web, the official desktop app, or an emulator. On a Chromebook, WhatsApp Web works best, and our GB WhatsApp for Chromebook guide also shows how to install the APK itself. On an iPad, install the official WhatsApp app and link it, as our GB WhatsApp for iPhone guide explains.

GB WhatsApp Login Problems and Fixes

“GB WhatsApp login” problems fall into two groups: logging in to the app on your phone, and linking a computer. Here are the fixes for both.

Problem

Likely cause

Fix

“You need the official WhatsApp to log in”

Your GB build is too old.

Update to 27.06, then try again.

The verification code never arrives

WhatsApp limits code requests, or the number has a ban.

Wait for the timer, then ask for a voice call code.

The QR code will not scan

The code expired, or the camera cannot focus.

Reload the page, clean the camera lens, or link with a phone number.

Linked devices option is missing

The build predates linked devices.

Update GB WhatsApp to the latest build.

The app crashes while linking

A known bug in older builds.

Update to 27.06, which fixed this crash.

The computer logged out by itself

The phone stayed offline for over 14 days, or the session sat unused.

Open GB WhatsApp on the phone, then link the computer again.

What Is “Android Web GB WhatsApp”?

Searches like “Android Web GB WhatsApp” or “Android Web GB WhatsApp APK” usually mix up two different things.

  • AndroidWaves is a download site that hosts GB WhatsApp files. It is not a developer.
  • WhatsApp Web is the browser version of WhatsApp that you link from your phone.

No separate “Android Web” version of GB WhatsApp exists. If a site offers one, check the file details before you install anything.

Keep Your Linked Devices Safe

Every linked computer can read your chats. So, check your list of linked devices now and then, especially after you use a shared or public computer.

  1. Open GB WhatsApp and tap the three dot menu.
  2. Tap Linked devices to see every connected computer.
  3. Tap any device you do not recognize and choose Log out.

WhatsApp allows up to four linked devices per account, and it logs them out if your phone stays offline for more than 14 days, according to Gulf News. Still, a session you forget can stay active for a long time if you use your phone daily.

Remember the ban risk

Linking a computer does not hide that you use a mod. WhatsApp can still ban accounts that use unofficial apps, as its help center explains.

Our Verdict

For almost everyone, linking a computer through WhatsApp Web or the desktop app is the best way to use GB WhatsApp on a PC. It takes a minute, needs no extra software, and keeps your account on your phone.

Choose an emulator only if you need the GB extras on the computer, and pair it with a spare number.

GB WhatsApp Web FAQs

Quick answers to the questions people ask most about GB WhatsApp on a computer.

No. No developer makes a Windows or Mac version. Use WhatsApp Web linked to your phone, or run the Android APK in an emulator such as BlueStacks.

Yes. Choose Link with phone number on WhatsApp Web, enter your number, and type the 8 character code into GB WhatsApp on your phone.

Mostly no. The computer runs the normal WhatsApp interface, so themes, anti delete, and Ghost mode stay on your phone.

WhatsApp allows up to four linked devices per account, plus your main phone.

Yes, for a while. Linked devices keep working on their own, but they log out if your phone stays offline for more than 14 days.

Your build is too old. Update to GB WhatsApp 27.06, which supports linked devices and fixed a crash during linking.

Older builds had this bug. Update to version 27.06, which fixed it.

Yes, with an Android emulator. However, the laptop then becomes your main device, so use a spare number.

It is a mixed up search term. AndroidWaves is a download site, and WhatsApp Web is the browser version of WhatsApp. No “Android Web” version of GB WhatsApp exists.

Linking works like official WhatsApp, but the ban risk of the mod remains. Check your linked devices often and log out of any you do not recognize.
