The short answer

GB WhatsApp is an unofficial, modified version of WhatsApp for Android. Independent developers build it, not Meta. It adds extras like hiding your online status, reading deleted messages, and custom themes. However, it breaks WhatsApp’s rules, so WhatsApp can ban your number, and you should only install a file you can verify.

Most GB WhatsApp pages hand you a download button and a list of features. Then they leave you alone with the problems that show up later. We wrote this guide differently. It covers the whole journey, from picking a safe file to moving your chats back to official WhatsApp if you ever need to.

So, whether you want the newest APK, you just got a ban message, or you lost your chats after an update, you will find a clear answer below.

GB WhatsApp 27.06 for Android

APK file, about 133 MB. Free download, no sign up, works on Android 5.1 and newer.

Three things to know before you tap download

  • It is unofficial. Meta does not make or approve GB WhatsApp, and WhatsApp says unofficial apps can lead to a ban.
  • Use a second number if you can. That way, a ban never touches the number your family, bank, and work use.
  • Check the file. After you download, confirm the package name reads com.gbwhatsapp and the size sits near 133 MB. A file far off that size is a different file. Our original GB WhatsApp guide walks through every check.

Field note

Your phone can keep official WhatsApp and GB WhatsApp at the same time. GB WhatsApp uses its own package name, com.gbwhatsapp, so Android treats it as a separate app. Just register a different number on each one.

What Is GB WhatsApp?

GB WhatsApp is a third party copy of WhatsApp that independent developers modify and share as an APK file. It connects to WhatsApp’s own servers with your phone number, so you chat with normal WhatsApp users as usual. On top of that, it unlocks settings the official app does not offer.

Think of it like a custom skin plus extra switches on top of the regular app. The chats still travel through WhatsApp. However, the app on your phone now comes from someone other than Meta.

What does GB mean in GB WhatsApp?

Nobody knows for sure. The developers never published an official meaning. Many people guess it stands for the original modder’s initials, and some say it means “Great Bonus”. Either way, “GB” has nothing to do with gigabytes, which confuses a lot of searchers.

Who makes GB WhatsApp?

No single company owns GB WhatsApp. Over the years, several independent modders built and updated different versions. The names you see most often include AlexMods, HeyMods, and Abu Saleh, who works with the FMMods group and publishes the current 27.06 build. Meta even sued HeyMods in 2022 over fake WhatsApp apps that compromised more than one million accounts, according to Bitdefender’s report on the lawsuit.

Because of this, the “developer” field on most download sites tells you very little. What matters more is where your exact file came from and whether you can verify it.

Why do sites show different version numbers?

This question confuses almost everyone, so here is the simple explanation. Two separate build lines use the GB WhatsApp name, and each one counts its versions differently.

Version numbers from different modders do not compare with each other. Check the base WhatsApp version instead.

Build line

Version style

What it means for you

Abu Saleh (FMMods)

Numbers like 26.97 and 27.06

This line updates often. Its newest build, 27.06, came out on 19 October 2026.

AlexMods line

Numbers like 17.60 and 18.80

This older numbering still appears on many sites as the “latest” version. A bigger number in one line does not beat the other line.

So, when one site says v18.80 and another says v27.06, neither one is necessarily lying. They simply talk about different builds. A better question to ask is which official WhatsApp version the build uses as its base, because a newer base usually logs in more reliably.

How We Check Every Build

Anyone can write “100% safe” on a download page. We would rather show you exactly what we check before a build goes on this page, so you can judge it yourself.

  1. Source check. We record where the file came from and which developer released it.
  2. Version match. We confirm the version number, package name, and base WhatsApp version match the developer’s release notes.
  3. Malware scan. We run the APK through VirusTotal, which checks it against more than 60 antivirus engines.
  4. Permission review. We compare the permissions it requests with official WhatsApp and flag anything unusual.
  5. Install check. We install it on an Android phone with a spare number, never a main account.
  6. Feature check. We try the headline features, a backup, a restore, and a WhatsApp Web link.

Check your own copy in two minutes

You do not need to trust us blindly. First, look at the file size, which should sit near 133 MB for version 27.06. Next, upload the APK to VirusTotal before you install it. Finally, when Android shows the install screen, confirm the app name and look for anything that asks for device admin rights.

You can read our full process in our Editorial Policy. If your copy looks different from what we describe, email us at [email protected] and we will check it.

GB WhatsApp Features (and How to Use Each One)

Here is what GB WhatsApp actually adds, plus where to find each option. Menu names can shift a little between builds, so look for similar wording if yours differs.

Hide online status, blue ticks, and typing

GB WhatsApp lets you control each privacy signal on its own. You can hide when you are online, stop blue ticks from showing, and hide the “typing” and “recording” labels. You can even apply these settings to specific contacts or groups.

How to use it: Open the three dot menu, tap GB Settings, then open Privacy and Security. Turn on the switches you want.

Freeze last seen

This feature locks your “last seen” time at the moment you turn it on. So, you can keep chatting while your contacts still see that older time.

How to use it: Go to GB Settings, then Privacy and Security, and turn on Freeze Last Seen.

Ghost mode

Ghost mode combines several privacy switches into one tap. It hides your online status, read receipts, and typing signals at once. Version 27.06 adds a reworked Ghost mode, so look for the ghost icon at the top of your chat list.

How to use it: Tap the ghost icon on the main screen, or enable it inside GB Settings.

Anti delete messages and statuses

When someone deletes a message they sent you, GB WhatsApp keeps a copy and marks it as deleted. It can also keep statuses after their owner removes them. Many people install the app just for this feature, yet it raises fair privacy questions, which we cover later.

How to use it: Open GB Settings, then Privacy and Security, and turn on Anti Delete Messages and Anti Delete Status.

Unlimited View Once

View Once photos and videos normally disappear after one look. GB WhatsApp lets you open them again, and version 27.06 improves this feature. Keep in mind that the sender chose View Once for a reason.

How to use it: Open the View Once media as usual. The mod keeps it available afterwards.

Save other people’s statuses

You can download photos and videos from statuses straight to your gallery, without asking the sender.

How to use it: Open a status and tap the download icon at the bottom.

Themes, fonts, and chat bubbles

GB WhatsApp ships with a large theme store plus options to change fonts, chat bubbles, ticks, and icons. Version 27.06 also lets you set a cover photo on your profile.

How to use it: Tap the three dot menu, then Themes, and pick one from the store or build your own.

App lock and hidden chats

You can lock the whole app or individual chats with a PIN, pattern, or fingerprint. You can also hide chats from the main list completely.

How to use it: Open GB Settings, then Privacy and Security, and set up Lock. To hide a chat, long press it and pick Hide.

Do not disturb mode

DND mode cuts the internet connection for GB WhatsApp only. Your other apps stay online, but no WhatsApp messages arrive until you switch it off.

How to use it: Tap the DND icon at the top of the main screen, or turn it on in GB Settings.

Message scheduler and auto reply

You can write a message now and set it to send later. Auto reply answers incoming messages for you while you are busy.

How to use it: Find both options in the three dot menu. Keep in mind that heavy automation can attract a ban.

Larger media sharing

GB WhatsApp lets you send more images at once and send videos without heavy compression. However, official WhatsApp now supports files up to 2 GB, so this gap is much smaller than many sites claim.

How to use it: Attach media as usual. Some builds add a quality option in GB Settings, under Media.

Field note

Most feature switches live in one place: the three dot menu, then GB Settings. If a feature seems missing after an update, check that you installed the full 27.06 build and not an older copy with a new name.

GB WhatsApp vs Official WhatsApp

The biggest difference is not a feature. It is trust. Official WhatsApp comes from Meta through the Play Store, and it updates itself. GB WhatsApp comes from independent developers through websites, and you update it by hand.

Features you may not need GB WhatsApp for anymore

Here is something most GB WhatsApp sites never mention. Official WhatsApp quietly added several features that used to be GB only. In fact, a 2025 study of mod users found that many people installed a mod for features the official app already had.

  • Chat lock. WhatsApp moves locked chats into a separate folder that opens with your fingerprint or a secret code. TechCrunch covered the launch.
  • Two accounts on one phone. You can add a second account in Settings without any mod, as WhatsApp’s own blog explains.
  • Hide your online status. Official WhatsApp lets you choose who sees when you are online.
  • Big files. You can send documents up to 2 GB.
  • Edit sent messages. You can fix a typo after you hit send.

So, if one of these features is your main reason, try the official app first. You get it without any ban risk.

How to Download and Install GB WhatsApp on Android

Installing an APK takes about two minutes. Before you start, back up any chats you care about and keep your phone charged.

  1. Download the APK. Tap the download button above and wait for the file to finish.
  2. Check the file. Confirm the size sits near 133 MB, and scan it on VirusTotal if you can.
  3. Allow the install. Open the file. If Android blocks it, tap Settings and turn on “Allow from this source” for your browser or file manager.
  4. Handle Play Protect. If Play Protect shows a warning, read it carefully. You can tap More details and then Install anyway, but only for a file you checked.
  5. Install and open. Tap Install, then Open. Accept the terms screen.
  6. Register your number. Enter your number with the country code and type the six digit code WhatsApp sends.
  7. Restore or start fresh. If you have a local backup, GB WhatsApp offers to restore it. Otherwise, set your name and photo and start chatting.

Where to find “install unknown apps”

On Android 8 and newer, Android asks for permission per app. Go to Settings, then Apps, then Special app access, then Install unknown apps, and allow your browser or file manager. On Android 7 and older, you turn on Unknown sources once under Settings, then Security.

Once GB WhatsApp installs, we suggest you turn that permission off again. That small step stops other apps from slipping in later.

New Android rules for sideloaded apps in 2026

Google started a new developer verification system on 30 September 2026. For now, it applies in Brazil, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand, and it mainly covers apps installed through participating stores. Google plans a wider rollout in 2027, according to the Android Developers Blog.

Anonymous modders rarely register their identity, so installing GB WhatsApp may get harder over time. If your phone blocks the install, Google offers an “advanced flow” in Developer Options. It asks you to restart, wait 24 hours, and confirm that nobody pressured you. We will update this section as the rules change.

Watch out

Never install GB WhatsApp from a link someone sends you in a chat. In the 2025 study, more than half of users got their first copy that way, and shared files are the easiest way to spread a fake build.

How to Update GB WhatsApp Without Losing Chats

GB WhatsApp cannot update itself through the Play Store. Instead, you download the new APK and install it over the old one. Done right, your chats stay exactly where they are. For every update path, including Pro and expired builds, read our GB WhatsApp update guide.

  1. Back up first. Open Settings, then Chats, then Chat backup, and tap Back up.
  2. Download version 27.06 from this page. Make sure it comes from the same build line you already use.
  3. Install over the old app. Open the new file and tap Update. Do not uninstall the old app first.
  4. Open and check. Your chats should appear right away. Then confirm the version number reads 27.06 under GB Settings, Updates.

What “This version has expired” means

Many GB builds carry a built in expiry date. Once that date passes, the app asks you to update and stops working until you do. Developers use expiry to push everyone onto builds that still log in after WhatsApp changes its servers.

So, when you see this message, do not panic. Your chats still sit on your phone. Simply install the newest build over the old one, as shown above.

Do not do this

Do not switch between build lines during an update, for example from an AlexMods build to an Abu Saleh build, without a backup. Builds from different modders can use different signing keys, and Android then refuses to install one over the other.

GB WhatsApp Old Versions

People search for old builds like 6.50, 17.60, or 18.80 for good reasons. Maybe a new version crashes, or an old phone cannot run it. Still, old builds come with a catch. WhatsApp regularly retires old app code, so very old versions often refuse to log in at all. To find a build that still works, browse our GB WhatsApp old versions archive.

Is GB WhatsApp Safe?

Our straight answer

GB WhatsApp is not as safe as official WhatsApp, and no website can truthfully promise otherwise. A clean, checked build lowers the risk of malware. However, it cannot remove the risk of a ban or the fact that independent developers handle your messages.

Here is why we say that. Official WhatsApp goes through Google and Apple app review, and Meta publishes its security practices. GB WhatsApp goes through neither. So, you have to trust whoever built and shared your file.

Real incidents with WhatsApp mods

These cases are not theories. Security researchers documented each one.

  • 2021: Kaspersky found the Triada trojan hidden inside an advertising module in FMWhatsApp. It could sign victims up for paid subscriptions and even take over WhatsApp accounts by stealing login codes. Read Kaspersky’s report.
  • 2022: Meta sued the makers of fake WhatsApp apps after they compromised over one million accounts.
  • 2023: Kaspersky found CanesSpy spyware in WhatsApp mods shared through Telegram channels. It could record audio and steal files, as The Hacker News reported.
  • 2025: Researchers from the University of Washington tested 13 GB WhatsApp files from ten websites. Two of them carried the Triada trojan. Read the IEEE paper.

Permissions GB WhatsApp asks for

The same 2025 study found seven permissions that GB WhatsApp builds requested but official WhatsApp did not. Here are the ones worth knowing about.

Based on the 2025 IEEE study of GB WhatsApp builds.

Permission

What it allows

Should you worry?

Draw over other apps

Shows windows on top of other apps

Mild. Scammers can misuse it for fake screens.

Change system settings

Edits some phone settings

Yes. A messenger rarely needs it.

Physical activity recognition

Detects walking or driving

Yes. Android classes it as dangerous.

Broad file access

Reads more of your storage

Mild. Needed for local backups, but it widens access.

Device admin or SMS reading

Deep control or reading texts

Stop. A clean build should not ask for these.

How to spot a fake GB WhatsApp file

  1. The package name is something other than com.gbwhatsapp.
  2. The file size looks far off, for example 15 MB instead of around 133 MB.
  3. It asks to become a device administrator or to read your SMS messages.
  4. Play Protect or your antivirus flags it as a trojan, not just as “unknown”.
  5. The site forces you through extra installers, “fast downloader” apps, or surveys.
  6. It asks for your WhatsApp verification code anywhere outside the normal setup screen.

If you see any of these signs, delete the file. Then, if you already installed it, change your WhatsApp two step verification PIN from the official app.

In most countries, no specific law makes installing GB WhatsApp a crime. However, it clearly breaks WhatsApp’s Terms of Service, and that is exactly why WhatsApp can ban your number. Rules also differ by country, so check your local laws if you live somewhere with strict app regulations.

Will GB WhatsApp Get Your Account Banned?

It can, and it happens more than most download sites admit. In the 2025 study we mentioned, about half of the interviewed mod users said WhatsApp had banned or suspended them at some point.

WhatsApp’s position stays clear. Its Help Center page on temporarily banned accounts says unofficial apps put your security at risk, and that if you do not switch to the official app, WhatsApp might ban your account permanently.

Every ban message explained

Temporary ban

“Temporarily banned”

What it means: WhatsApp detected an unofficial app and paused your account for a while. A timer shows when it ends.

What to do: Switch to official WhatsApp before the timer ends. WhatsApp warns that ignoring this can lead to a permanent ban.

Login blocked

“You need the official WhatsApp to log in”

What it means: WhatsApp checked your app or phone and refused the login. This message got far more common after WhatsApp added stronger device checks.

What to do: Install official WhatsApp from the Play Store and verify your number there. Retrying in GB rarely helps.

Logged out

“You have been logged out for using an unofficial app”

What it means: Your session ended. Your number usually still works in the official app.

What to do: Back up your chats, then move to official WhatsApp using the steps in the backup section.

Permanent ban

“This account is not allowed to use WhatsApp”

What it means: WhatsApp blocked the number entirely, often after repeated warnings.

What to do: Use the Contact support option in the official app to request a review. Do not pay anyone who promises an unban.

What “anti ban” really means

Almost every GB build advertises “anti ban”, and version 27.06 lists an updated anti ban system too. In practice, it means the developer tried to make the app look more like official WhatsApp to WhatsApp’s servers. It lowers the chance of detection for a while. It never makes you immune, and WhatsApp can change its checks at any time without warning.

That is why our header says “AntiBan” only in that honest sense: reduced risk, never zero risk.

How long does a GB WhatsApp ban last?

A temporary ban shows a countdown timer, and it often lasts from a few hours to a few days. WhatsApp does not publish fixed lengths. Each repeat offense tends to last longer, and continuing to use the mod can turn it permanent.

How to lower your ban risk

  • Use a secondary number, not your main one.
  • Update to each new build soon after it comes out.
  • Avoid bulk messaging, auto reply bots, and adding strangers to groups.
  • Do not run GB WhatsApp on a rooted phone with a modified system.
  • Stop using the mod right away if you see a temporary ban.

Scam alert

Sites and social media accounts sell “unban services” for a fee. Nobody outside WhatsApp can lift a ban. Moreover, these scammers often ask for your six digit code, which hands them your account.

Backup, Restore, and Moving Your Chats

Losing chats hurts more than a ban. Fortunately, a little preparation prevents almost every chat loss readers report. Here is how GB WhatsApp handles backups and how to move between apps safely.

Where does GB WhatsApp store its backup?

GB WhatsApp saves backups on your phone, not in Google Drive. On Android 11 and newer, recent builds keep them inside Internal storage, then Android, then media, then com.gbwhatsapp, in a folder named GBWhatsApp. On older phones and older builds, look for a GBWhatsApp folder at the top level of internal storage.

Inside that folder, the Databases folder holds your chats, and the Media folder holds photos, videos, and voice notes.

Why Google Drive restore does not work

Google Drive backups belong to the official WhatsApp app and its Google sign in. GB WhatsApp cannot use them. Therefore, always copy your local backup folder to a computer or a USB drive as an extra safety copy.

Move chats from official WhatsApp to GB WhatsApp

  1. In official WhatsApp, open Settings, then Chats, then Chat backup, and tap Back up.
  2. Open your file manager and find the official WhatsApp folder (on Android 11 and newer, Android/media/com.whatsapp/WhatsApp).
  3. Copy that folder into the GB WhatsApp location and rename it GBWhatsApp.
  4. Install GB WhatsApp, verify the same number, and tap Restore when asked.

Switch back to official WhatsApp without losing chats

  1. In GB WhatsApp, open Settings, then Chats, then Chat backup, and tap Back up.
  2. Copy the whole GBWhatsApp folder to a computer as a safety copy.
  3. Copy the backup into the official WhatsApp location and rename the folder to WhatsApp.
  4. Install official WhatsApp from the Play Store and verify the same number.
  5. Tap Restore when WhatsApp finds the backup.

Field note

Keep your safety copy until you confirm every chat and photo arrived. WhatsApp itself warns that it cannot guarantee chats from unofficial apps will transfer, and a second copy costs you nothing.

Restore GB WhatsApp on a new phone

Copy the full GBWhatsApp folder from your old phone to the same location on the new one. Then install the same build line, verify your number, and restore. Use the same build line, because a different line may not read the backup correctly.

GB WhatsApp Not Working? Fixes for Common Problems

Most problems come from one of a few causes. Find your error below and try the fix in order.

GB WhatsApp on PC, Web, and Linked Devices

No real desktop version of GB WhatsApp exists. However, you have two practical options.

Use WhatsApp Web with your GB account

Recent builds support linked devices. Open web.whatsapp.com on your computer, then in GB WhatsApp tap the three dot menu, then Linked devices, and scan the QR code. Your chats then appear in the browser. Keep in mind that the web version shows only standard WhatsApp features, not GB extras. Our GB WhatsApp Web guide covers the QR code and phone number methods step by step.

Run the APK in an Android emulator

You can also install an emulator such as BlueStacks on Windows or Mac and install the APK inside it. It works, yet it uses a lot of memory, and emulators can increase detection risk. For most people, linked devices works better. On a Chromebook, follow our GB WhatsApp for Chromebook guide instead.

Protect yourself

Check your Linked devices list every few weeks, in both GB and official WhatsApp. Researchers found that some people used mods and QR codes to secretly read a partner’s messages. If you see a device you do not recognize, log it out right away.

Is There GB WhatsApp for iPhone?

No. GB WhatsApp exists only for Android. Apple blocks apps from outside its App Store on most iPhones, and no real GB WhatsApp build for iOS has ever existed.

So, any site offering a “GB WhatsApp IPA” or a profile to install is either a fake or something riskier. Some of these pages push you to jailbreak your phone, which strips away iPhone security. We strongly suggest you skip them.

If you use an iPhone, official WhatsApp already gives you chat lock, hidden online status, and two accounts. For many people, those cover the features they wanted from GB WhatsApp. Our GB WhatsApp for iPhone guide maps each GB feature to an iPhone setting.

GB WhatsApp Pro and Other Versions Compared

The mod world uses a lot of names for very similar apps. Here is how the most searched ones relate to GB WhatsApp.

Name

What it actually is

GB WhatsApp Pro

A separate build line from the developer AlexMods. Its latest release is 18.70.

AndroidWaves GB WhatsApp

A download site name, not a developer. It shares GB builds.

HindiSe GB WhatsApp

Another download site name attached to GB builds.

GB WhatsApp on APKPure

A copy uploaded to a third party store. Always check the size and package name.

FM WhatsApp

A sister mod from the FMMods group with its own package name, com.fmwhatsapp.

YoWhatsApp

Another mod with a similar feature set and its own package name.

Golden WhatsApp

A mod known for its gold theme. See our full guide.

WhatsApp Plus

One of the oldest mods. WhatsApp named it alongside GB WhatsApp in its warnings.

Because each mod uses its own package name, you can technically install several at once. Still, each one needs its own phone number, and each one carries the same ban risk.

Use It Responsibly

GB WhatsApp gives you power over other people’s messages, not just your own. For example, anti delete keeps messages someone chose to remove, and status saving copies photos without asking. Researchers found that many mod users felt embarrassed when others used these features on them.

So, treat what you see with care. If someone deletes a message, they probably had a reason. Respecting that keeps your friendships healthy, and it keeps you on the right side of privacy laws in many countries.

Our Verdict

GB WhatsApp makes sense if you

  • Want features official WhatsApp still lacks, like anti delete or freeze last seen
  • Can use a secondary number
  • Will check the file and update it yourself
  • Accept that a ban can happen

Skip it if you

  • Only want chat lock, two accounts, or hidden online status
  • Use WhatsApp for work, banking codes, or business
  • Cannot afford to lose your main number
  • Use an iPhone

In the end, the safest choice depends on what you need. If official WhatsApp covers your needs, stay with it. If not, use GB WhatsApp the careful way: a checked file, a spare number, and a backup you keep somewhere safe.

GB WhatsApp FAQs

These answers come from the questions people actually type into Google about GB WhatsApp.

It is safer when you install a checked build, but it is never as safe as official WhatsApp. Independent developers make it, researchers found trojans in some copies, and WhatsApp can ban your number. Scan the file on VirusTotal before installing.

The latest build is version 27.06 from Abu Saleh and FMMods, released on 19 October 2026. It runs on Android 5.1 or newer and builds on official WhatsApp 2.26.39.80.

In most countries, no law specifically bans installing it. However, it breaks WhatsApp’s Terms of Service, which allows WhatsApp to ban your account. Check your local rules if your country regulates apps strictly.

Yes. GB WhatsApp uses its own package name, so both apps install side by side. You need a different phone number for each app, though, because one number works in only one phone app at a time.

Not if you back up first. Make a local backup in official WhatsApp, copy it into the GB WhatsApp folder, and restore during setup. Google Drive backups do not work in GB WhatsApp.

Back up your chats, download version 27.06 from the same build line, and install it over the old app without uninstalling. Your chats stay in place.

The most common reasons are an expired build, a WhatsApp server change, or a login block. Install version 27.06 first. If you see “You need the official WhatsApp to log in”, move to the official app.

WhatsApp checked your app or device and refused the login. Retrying in GB WhatsApp seldom helps. Install official WhatsApp from the Play Store, verify your number, and restore your backup there.

A temporary ban shows a countdown timer and often lasts from a few hours to a few days. WhatsApp does not publish fixed lengths. Repeat bans usually last longer and can become permanent.

Uninstall GB WhatsApp, install official WhatsApp, and wait out any timer. For a permanent ban, use Contact support inside the official app to request a review. Never pay anyone for an unban.

Yes. With Anti Delete Messages turned on, GB WhatsApp keeps a copy of messages that the sender deletes and labels them as deleted. It only works for messages that reached your phone while the feature was on.

A fake or infected build can steal your data or your account. To protect yourself, check the file, refuse SMS or device admin permissions, set a two step verification PIN, and check your Linked devices list regularly.

No. Google Drive backups belong to official WhatsApp. Make a local backup instead, copy the folder into the GB WhatsApp location, and restore from that.

On Android 11 and newer, recent builds store backups inside Android/media/com.gbwhatsapp in a GBWhatsApp folder. On older phones, look for a GBWhatsApp folder in internal storage.

No. No company owns GB WhatsApp, so no site is truly official. Many sites call themselves official, but you should judge a file by its package name, size, and scan result, not by its label.

No. GB WhatsApp exists only for Android. Sites offering an iPhone version or IPA file are fakes, and some push risky jailbreaks.

Usually none. Most sites use “Pro” as a label for the same GB builds. Compare the base WhatsApp version and the developer instead of the name.

Usually another GB build with a different signature already sits on your phone, or the download broke. Back up, remove the other build, free some storage, and download the file again.

Most builds show ads to pay their developers, and you cannot remove all of them. Some builds let you reduce them in GB Settings. Avoid “ad free” copies from unknown sites, since they often hide changes you cannot see.

Choose official WhatsApp if it covers your needs, especially for work or banking codes. Choose GB WhatsApp only if you need its extra features and can use a secondary number.
